Thrift Store

Our Thrift Store formally closed May, 2011. We are still able to provide the items given to us by our supporting businesses to our clients. Unfortunately we are unable to accept and distribute items donated by individuals due to space limitations.

Please Mum has been a supportive community partner since 2007. Their generous donation of seasonal clothing for kids has been a wonderful gift to our most innocent clients. We will miss working with them as they closed their doors in Kamloops in July 2011.
Wal-Mart has been a strong supporter of our Thrift Store and our Basics for Babies program. We received a grant from the Federal Government in 2010 to purchase 250 "Start Up Kits" for our clients. The Start Up Kits contained household items for the kitchen, bathroom and bedroom. The team at Walmart worked diligently to ensure we received the best deal and were dedicated to ensuring that the orders were completed quickly and thoroughly. We also purchase all of our diapers, formula and baby cereal from Wal-Mart. We receive a generous discount on these items which is used to purchase more items for our clients under the age of 2.
NRI Distribution has made many generous contribution to the Food Bank over the years. Brand name clothing, Ski jackets & pants, gloves, socks, and much more. We truly appreciate the generosity and support given by NRI.
The team at Thompson Valley Disaster Kleenup made a very generous donation to the thrift store in 2010. When a local business had a pipe burst and the children's clothing was soaked and unsellable, the employees at Thompson Valley Disaster Kleenup couldn't bare the thought of the items going to the dump. Together with McCleaners they donated time to wash every item and deliver it to the Food Bank.
Household goods and clothing that have small flaws and are returned, don't end up in the landfill. Winners/Homesense donates them to the Food Bank. Their donations have given our clients new bedding as well as clothing that they would not have received otherwise.
