foodSHARE

foodSHARE is one of the largest food recovery programs run by a food bank in Western Canada. Since 2007, the program has diverted over 25.4 million pounds of food from the landfill. This food is accessed by 9,000 clients (making 74,000 visits annually), 48 community agencies that prepare meals, and 10 local farmers who use expired products for animal feed. Committed to zero waste, foodSHARE provides healthy items like meat, dairy, produce, and bakery products to clients twice a month.
