New volunteers are always welcome at the Kamloops Food Bank
We strive to give our volunteers opportunities to use their skills and talents, as well as learning new ones. As a volunteer, you will have the chance to learn new skills, gain self confidence, discover your strengths and talents, and expand your social circle.
Volunteering goes beyond your career search. You will find volunteering fulfilling in many other ways. When you volunteer, you give a part of yourself, your time, energy, skills, and feelings.

• Preparing Food Hampers
• Serving Clients (9am to noon)
• Sorting Food
• Special Events Volunteer**
• Kitchen Assistance (Cooking lunches for volunteers)
• Grounds Keeping
• Building Maintenance
**Special Events include tasks such as setting up, running, and taking down events that are held during evenings and weekends. This includes, collecting donations at local sporting events, helping at Food Drive’s, etc. Volunteer Applications and Criminal Record checks are still mandatory for this category.
